Many times, medicine is pursued in an opaque way. Alternatively, when ideas are shared openly, solutions can arrive quicker, be more effective, and inspire even more ideas. Our mission is to empower this collaborative approach in medicine. We strongly believe doing so promises safer, more powerful, and equitable medicine becoming available to patients faster, especially for neglected and under-addressed diseases.
We specialize in advanced computation-based techniques, such as simulation and artificial intelligence, that bolster the search for medicine. We maintain an online virtual lab to investigate how ideas for medicine might work in the human body to stop disease. Through this lab, we empower our collaborators - students, citizen scientists, and researchers - to develop new ideas, share them openly, and contribute to pursuing crowdsourced cures.
The Hope Shared Foundation was established in 2014 to unite students with experiential learning through research authorship. We pioneered methods for making medical research accessible to non-specialists so that people everywhere can participate in helping find cures. Through our online virtual lab, our partners contribute to actual biomedical research, gain valuable career-building skills, and work in compassion, thereby becoming the compassion leaders that we desperately need.
We are dedicated to making a future where safe and effective medicines are easily accessible to those who need them. We empower open-access, crowdsourced medical research while supporting students, citizen scientists, and researchers. We do all this without salaries and on a volunteer basis, ensuring that all the support we receive goes directly towards fulfilling our mission. We welcome you to join us in our efforts and become a part of sharing hope!
We start by partnering to provide students with actual biomedical research opportunities in which they build ideas for medicine. Students then explore how these ideas might work in the human body to stop disease using a virtual lab in the cloud. The results of the students' work are then shared freely via our data repository, tutorials, and research publications. We then work with medical researchers to advance these ideas towards medicines, providing hope for patients.
We work with our partners to provide student-authored research apprenticeships to a select cohort of students. This builds resumes, teaches valuable skills, and inspires compassion.
For researchers, access freely available computational data, tutorials, and research publications. For patients, share your story and help us advocate for new, better, and more equitable medicines.
We work with our partners to bring research opportunities and mentoring to schools and classrooms. Students explore careers. learn important concepts, and contribute to helping others.
As an all-volunteer not-for-profit, we rely heavily on our supporters to help spread the word about what we are doing. If you would like to help us communicate the good news, share the QR code above, which directs to this website, or share our website URL: https://hopesharedfoundation.org/
We connect students with advanced computational resources in the cloud to learn, do research, and share results. Consider sponsoring a student by purchasing these resources as a gift on their behalf, empowering them to devote their very best to their futures and helping others.
Because of donors, we can continue our vital work of supporting students, researchers, educators, and patients. Your support is deeply meaningful and appreciated. Please consider donating by scanning/sharing the QR code above or clicking on the donate button below.
